Two Sided Real Sunset Moth Wing Necklace

I placed a real sunset moth wing between clear glass and hand soldered the little round pendant so both sides of that incredible wing remain visible. One side flashes brilliant green, turquoise and orange, while the reverse brings out more gold, blue and warm amber tones. Turn it over and it almost looks like a different piece. The moth supplied all that color...I just gave it a way to be worn. A wonderfully unusual little piece for anyone who loves butterflies, moths and nature jewelry. Handmade in my home studio.

Artisan Handmade Process

My medium is the Tiffany-style stained glass technique, combining glass, gemstones, and other materials using the copper foil method. My metalwork features a blend of tin, silver, copper, and brass, all safe for sensitive skin. Instead of torch soldering, I use a soldering iron, which gives me more flexibility to create a diverse variety of organic designs.
