A Fossil From an Ancient Ocean

I set this prehistoric cephalopod fossil in a silver finish teardrop setting and honestly didn't feel the need to add much else. The fossil itself carries plenty of interest. The chambered shell runs nearly the full length of the pendant, preserving details from a creature that lived in ancient oceans long before any of us were around to admire it. One of a kind and impossible to duplicate exactly. Handmade in my home studio.

Artisan Handmade Process

My medium is the Tiffany-style stained glass technique, combining glass, gemstones, and other materials using the copper foil method. My metalwork features a blend of tin, silver, copper, and brass, all safe for sensitive skin. Instead of torch soldering, I use a soldering iron, which gives me more flexibility to create a diverse variety of organic designs.
