Midnight Blue Sandstone Pendant

I chose this large blue sandstone for that deep midnight color and the thousands of tiny points of light hiding inside it. The sparkle is surprisingly subtle until the stone moves, then suddenly there it is. My photographs caught some of it, but not nearly enough... definitely watch the video. I hand soldered the teardrop stone with a simple silver finish so there was very little competing with all that blue. Handmade in my home studio.

Artisan Handmade Process

My medium is the Tiffany-style stained glass technique, combining glass, gemstones, and other materials using the copper foil method. My metalwork features a blend of tin, silver, copper, and brass, all safe for sensitive skin. Instead of torch soldering, I use a soldering iron, which gives me more flexibility to create a diverse variety of organic designs.
