Beveled Glass Necklace with Herkimer Diamond Dangle

I started with a quality piece of clear beveled glass, turned it on point and hand soldered the setting with a large open bail above it. A natural Herkimer diamond dangles underneath, adding another little flash of clear crystal as the necklace moves. I finished the metal in gunmetal and designed this one to be worn long, where the shape and movement really have room to show. It’s an unusual mix of glass and natural crystal that catches light from just about every direction...and it’s an easy gift for someone who likes jewelry that’s decidedly not ordinary. Handmade in my home studio.

Artisan Handmade Process

My medium is the Tiffany-style stained glass technique, combining glass, gemstones, and other materials using the copper foil method. My metalwork features a blend of tin, silver, copper, and brass, all safe for sensitive skin. Instead of torch soldering, I use a soldering iron, which gives me more flexibility to create a diverse variety of organic designs.
