Blue Flower Pendant Made from Upcycled China

I made this pendant from a broken piece of china that was simply too pretty to throw away. I cut the porcelain to keep that sweet little trail of blue flowers and green leaves, then hand soldered it into a long oval pendant with a simple silver finish. I love finding ways to turn broken dishes into something completely different...and something that gets to be enjoyed instead of ending up in the trash. A little floral, a little vintage feeling and a pretty good second life for an old piece of china. Handmade in my home studio.

Artisan Handmade Process

My medium is the Tiffany-style stained glass technique, combining glass, gemstones, and other materials using the copper foil method. My metalwork features a blend of tin, silver, copper, and brass, all safe for sensitive skin. Instead of torch soldering, I use a soldering iron, which gives me more flexibility to create a diverse variety of organic designs.
