Inverted Teardrop Labradorite Necklace with Handmade Dangle

I set this labradorite with the teardrop turned upside down, then built the rest of the design around it by hand. The stone has a beautiful electric blue flash with hints of green that seem to appear out of nowhere when the light hits it. Underneath, I added a hand formed and soldered diamond shaped dangle with a heavily textured surface, giving the whole piece movement and a little bit of an artsy boho feel. I love the contrast between that glowing polished stone and the rougher texture of the metal below it. Definitely not your standard labradorite necklace...which is probably why I like it. Handmade in my home studio.

Artisan Handmade Process

My medium is the Tiffany-style stained glass technique, combining glass, gemstones, and other materials using the copper foil method. My metalwork features a blend of tin, silver, copper, and brass, all safe for sensitive skin. Instead of torch soldering, I use a soldering iron, which gives me more flexibility to create a diverse variety of organic designs.
