Wearable Magnifier Jewelry
I soldered a real magnifying glass and made it into a wearable, long necklace with pendant. Prettier than readers propped up on your head (guilty of that myself). Great for wearing out to dinner making those low lights and small print menus easier to manage. The soldered bail is strong and is large enough to allow you to change out the chain for a leather strap to take hiking or nature walks. Get up close and personal with all sorts of nature's offerings. A pretty and practical piece of jewelry.
Handmade Process
My medium is called “Tiffany” technique. It is the method of applying copper foil, wire and solder to form my jewelry designs. All of my work is newly made with either an intentional aged appearance of oxidized silver or shiny silver. The metal is applied with an iron as opposed to a torch which lends to an organic sense, both to the look and feel of each of my pieces. The solder is a mix of metals, which is metal sensitive friendly, no zinc, no nickel, no lead. I use the highest quality glass which does not scratch or yellow like resin. Please keep in mind that the photographed item is a representation of what you will receive. As with all handmade, no two are ever exactly alike. Each piece is lovingly handmade by me in my studio on the bayou here in Louisiana. My packaging is thoughtful and secure to assure your purchases arrive safely.
